This page reads the season window of every product in the IQF catalogue as one calendar. A window is when Egyptian processing of that product runs; peak months are when raw-material volume is highest and a new program is best packed. IQF product is frozen shortly after harvest and held at -18°C or colder, so product packed in season can ship from a partner's cold store months later — whether a given partner holds a given product in a given month is confirmed per RFQ, not read from this grid.

How to read the calendar

The window is a production window, not a shipping window. IQF product is frozen shortly after harvest and then held at -18°C or colder, so the months on this grid say when Egyptian processing of that product runs — not the only months it can ship. Product packed in season can leave from a partner’s cold store months later. Whether a given partner holds stock in a given month is a position, not a rule, and it is confirmed per RFQ.
Peak months are when a new program should be packed. Peak is where raw-material volume is highest, sizing is most consistent, and a partner can run a dedicated line for a private-label or spec-driven program. A first shipment scheduled inside the peak window is easier to specify, sample and repeat than one squeezed into the shoulder of the season.
Many Egyptian windows cross the year end. Strawberry, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, spinach, spring onions, bell pepper, pomegranate and sweet potato all open in autumn and close in late winter or spring. Read those rows from the right-hand end of the grid into the left. A December RFQ for strawberry is inside the window; a June one is asking for cold-store stock.
Year-round rows still have a peak. Onion and mixed vegetables show twelve shaded months because supply is continuous — but the peak months are still the months to plan around, and a mixed-vegetable blend is only as available as its least available component. Check each component’s row before fixing a blend program.

Season questions

When is the Egyptian strawberry season for IQF?

Egyptian strawberry processing for IQF runs from November to March, with the peak in December, January and February. Frozen strawberry from Egypt is the largest single Egyptian frozen export by declared value and volume, so this is the busiest window on the calendar. Whole, sliced and diced strawberry and strawberry puree are packed in the same window.

When is okra in season in Egypt?

Egyptian okra for IQF runs from May to November, with the peak from June to September. Extra, Zero, Fine and One grades and cut okra all come from the same summer crop; grade is a pod-size selection at the line, not a different season.

Can IQF product be ordered outside its harvest window?

Often, from cold store — IQF product is frozen at harvest and held at -18°C or colder, so partners carry stock past the window. Whether a specific partner holds a specific product and grade in a given month is confirmed against the RFQ, not assumed from the calendar. For a new program, book production inside the peak months and ship from that pack across the year.

Which Egyptian IQF products are available year-round?

Onion and mixed vegetables run all twelve months on this calendar. Every other product has a defined window. A mixed-vegetable blend is available all year because its components are packed in their own windows and blended from frozen stock.

What does the calendar mean for timing an RFQ?

Send the RFQ one to two months before the window opens, so that the specification, sample and packing decisions are settled before the line is running. Products opening next are listed on the page for the selected month. The RFQ should carry the product, grade or cut, volume, packing, destination, Incoterm, documents and the target shipment window.

Are these windows the same every year?

They are the windows the site publishes as the working reference for Egyptian production. A season can open or close a few weeks either way with the weather and the growing region, so a shipment window written into an RFQ should carry some tolerance, and the partner confirms the actual start against the crop.
